Rio is truly amazing! I think the carnival would also be pretty cool in Salvador though. I'd love to go back!

In Brazil, instead of going to Salvador, try Rio. The greatness, beauty, rhythm, grace, sensuality that emanates from this Rio Carnival is unique. I got an invitation from the school of samba. They said they wanted to make homage of my work,“I was thrilled, and I couldn’t believe it. Carnival in Brazil is the biggest cultural event in the country. There will be thousands of people dressed up. There will be huge floats. It’s hard to describe in words. I’m very appreciative. I’m very thankful.”

Nice list but Sao Tome e Principe is not a "Portuguese nation". They do speak Portuguese as it used to be a Portuguese colony, but not anymore since 75!

Hello Tanya, I have a few friends who have been and who are native to South Africa. Lots of them bragged about Cape Town, I'd like to see it for myself soon!

I can somehow relate to your comment about the social gap as I have been living in the Philippines in the last year. I observe the huge gap between the rich and the poor, and the exclusivity of the rich (social life, education, work, etc).
To some degree, I can understand that the gap was created for security reasons by the rich, but to some degree it seems like it was "designed" to be that way, to keep the rich wealthy and the poor broke, at least that is what it looks like to some of us foreigners living here.
